Germany, Austria & Switzerland
EU destinations normally use identification, valid rabies vaccination and an EU pet passport; Switzerland has its own import checks. The exact ownership and escort arrangement decides whether commercial certification applies.
Identification first
The microchip must be recorded before the rabies vaccination used for travel. Identity is checked against every veterinary document.
Rabies timing
Under the standard EU route, primary vaccination starts from 12 weeks and becomes valid after at least 21 days. This commonly makes 15 weeks the earliest standard cross-border age; route-specific exceptions are never assumed.
Commercial movement check
A sale, transfer of ownership, unaccompanied courier journey or timing outside the owner-accompanied window may require commercial certification and TRACES. We determine the legal route before confirming transport.
Arrival & registration
Registration after arrival differs by country and municipality. The receiving family confirms the applicable local dog, tax and identification register.
Welfare-led handover
Ground or accompanied-air options are evaluated from Madrid against temperature, duration and brachycephalic carrier restrictions.
Rules and carrier policies change. Casa Bulldog verifies the route with the relevant veterinarian and authorities before travel; this guide is not legal or veterinary advice.
