France, Belgium & Switzerland
The veterinary document set is matched to the legal movement type. Families in France also plan the required I-CAD identification and holder-change process after import.
Identification first
The microchip must be recorded before the rabies vaccination used for travel. Identity is checked against every veterinary document.
Rabies timing
Under the standard EU route, primary vaccination starts from 12 weeks and becomes valid after at least 21 days. This commonly makes 15 weeks the earliest standard cross-border age; route-specific exceptions are never assumed.
Commercial movement check
A sale, transfer of ownership, unaccompanied courier journey or timing outside the owner-accompanied window may require commercial certification and TRACES. We determine the legal route before confirming transport.
Arrival & registration
For France, identification and change of keeper are completed through I-CAD using the import documents. Belgian and Swiss obligations are confirmed for the destination before departure.
Welfare-led handover
Direct handover is planned only after document, route, weather and receiving-family checks are complete.
Rules and carrier policies change. Casa Bulldog verifies the route with the relevant veterinarian and authorities before travel; this guide is not legal or veterinary advice.
