Italy handover guide
Casa Bulldog is in Madrid, Spain. An enquiry from Italy does not mean a delivery is already arranged: the route, the puppy’s age, the veterinary documents and the weather are assessed for each puppy before any date is set.
Identification first
The microchip must be recorded before the rabies vaccination used for travel. Identity is checked against every veterinary document.
Rabies timing
Under the standard EU route, primary vaccination starts from 12 weeks and becomes valid after at least 21 days. This commonly makes 15 weeks the earliest standard cross-border age; route-specific exceptions are never assumed.
Commercial movement check
A sale, transfer of ownership, unaccompanied courier journey or timing outside the owner-accompanied window may require commercial certification and TRACES. We determine the legal route before confirming transport.
Pedigree recognised in Italy
Spain’s RSCE and Italy’s ENCI both belong to the FCI. According to ENCI, a foreign FCI pedigree issued in the Italian owner’s name and marked Export Pedigree can be transcribed into the Italian stud book once the dog is entered in the anagrafe canina.
Arrival & registration
After arrival, register the dog in your region’s anagrafe canina through the local ASL veterinary service or an authorised vet. Deadlines and procedures differ between regions, so check them before the puppy travels.
Welfare-led handover
Collection in Madrid or a planned route to Italy is confirmed only after the documents, the puppy’s welfare and the weather have been reviewed. A long journey for a short-nosed puppy needs planned rest, water, temperature checks and a clear point at which travel is postponed.
Rules and carrier policies change. Casa Bulldog verifies the route with the relevant veterinarian and authorities before travel; this guide is not legal or veterinary advice.
