United Kingdom
United Kingdom arrival guide
Great Britain separates non-commercial pet travel from commercial imports and requires approved routes. A puppy sale may fall under the commercial route, so documentation and entry method are confirmed before booking.
Identification first
The microchip must be recorded before the rabies vaccination used for travel. Identity is checked against every veterinary document.
Rabies timing
Under the standard EU route, primary vaccination starts from 12 weeks and becomes valid after at least 21 days. This commonly makes 15 weeks the earliest standard cross-border age; route-specific exceptions are never assumed.
Commercial movement check
A sale, transfer of ownership, unaccompanied courier journey or timing outside the owner-accompanied window may require commercial certification and TRACES. We determine the legal route before confirming transport.
Tapeworm treatment
Dogs normally need an authorised tapeworm treatment recorded 24 hours to 5 days before arrival in Great Britain, subject to origin exemptions.
Arrival & registration
The receiving family confirms UK microchip database and local ownership requirements after lawful entry.
Welfare-led handover
Only approved routes and carriers that accept brachycephalic dogs are considered. Cabin travel is not promised; airline and route restrictions decide what is possible.
Rules and carrier policies change. Casa Bulldog verifies the route with the relevant veterinarian and authorities before travel; this guide is not legal or veterinary advice.
